Location
Helsinki is easy to get to from anywhere in the world. Each year around 13 million visitors arrive at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, and Helsinki itself serves as the gateway to Southern Finland and its stunningly beautiful archipelago. The city is unique from it's eastern and western influences from the past 450 years. These can be seen everywhere - in the city’s architecture, culinary culture, event offerings and friendly people. It is also easy to travel to Russia (St. Petersburg) from Helsinki by train or by ship. It takes only about two-three hours to visit Tallinn the capital of Estonia. Finland’s legendary forests and clear lakes are just a short drive from the city centre.
Venue
As the RMA conference venue we have chosen the Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre, Hanasaari (www.hanaholmen.fi). It is located in a beautiful seaside setting and only 7 min from the city centre and 30 min from the airport. It will offer all conference facilities and accommodation.
Conference dinner
Conference dinner will be offered in Suomenlinna (www.suomenlinna.fi). This historical site is located on islands off Helsinki, and it is a unique historical monument and one of the largest maritime fortresses in the world. Its history is closely entwined with that of Finland, the Baltic region and Russian 1917 revolution. At 1991 UNESCO admitted Suomenlinna to the World heritage list.
